Carmen Salvador Workshop

Carmen Salvador is a young independent songwriter from Chile who mixes native and folkloric South American music with modern sounds and instrumentation. This workshop gives the basic history, structure and musical characteristics of “cueca”, Chile´s most recognizable music style.  The main objective is to give students the ability to use this style in composition, blending it with other types of music so that the result has a “cueca” feel. Students will learn the set of “cueca” patterns that can be translated into any instrument. Participants must have basic musical knowledge.
